Abstract

This article covers the questions of the monitoring of students' knowledge and the evaluation, as a component of the control of students' knowledge results in  education. We define basic characteristics of the evaluation and present some classification of this process. We show the problems connected with Russian practice of modern assessment of students' knowledge and present some decisions of the allocated problems.
