Abstract
The article is devoted to the historical way of Russian singing culture formation, understanding of which is necessary for rethinking and development of modern choral art. To understand the way of singing culture development in Russia, it’s necessary to analyze the stages of its origin and development, primarily in the sphere of church singing, which is the source of its origin.
