Abstract
This work deals with financial literacy in a context of social competence of children and young people. The essence of financial literacy is disclosed as sets of knowledge, skills, abilities and attitudes in the financial sphere and personality social and psychological traits. Relevant problems of the organization of financial education in Russia are defined.
