Abstract

The article analyzes the novel by the Russian writer of the first half of the 20th century B.A.Sadovskiy (1881-1952) in the context of modeling historical document of the 19th century (decrees, petitions, letters, announcements, orders and others) and the gospel text. In the novel the author attempts to create the mythological biographies by A. Pushkin, M. Lermontov, Emperor Nicholas, Metropolitan of Moscow Philaret and the fictional character Epaphroditus Egorov. The fusion of documentary (authentic and simulated) and artistic gives the novel some special stylistic originality and allows the writer to recreate the history of everyday life, to depict the world as a connection of historical (temporary) life and beyond the time borders (eternal) life.
