Put forward the idea of ​​consumer spending imbalance that affects the welfare of all members of the social system. The paper proposes an original model of consumption in society, which explains the dynamics of consumer expenditures in the social inequality.</p></abstract><trans-abstract xml:lang="ru"><p>В статье отмечается связь уровня и структуры потребления с системой статусной иерархии в обществе. Выдвигается положение о возникновении дисбаланса потребительских расходов, оказывающего влияние на  благосостояние всех членов социальной системы.
